HINT: Since Gmail gives us lots and lots of space, you may want to keep your email on the server for 90 days or more before automatically deleting.
FAQ: How do I set up folders in a Gmail account?
Gmail does not have folders like Yahoo or other online email providers. Gmail uses an indexing system defined by labels. Labels allow you to index a single message multiple ways.
This helps to eliminate the `Which folder did I put that message in?` problem. Gmail has inbox, archive, spam and trash folders.
To keep a message and remove it from your inbox, archive it. Archived messages are still available under the All Mail link and assigned labels.
Do not Delete a message from your inbox unless you want it gone. Deleted messages are not indexed under labels.
